WHAT IS A CO-OP?
A co-op is a buying group that cooperatively pools their orders together to purchase organic produce from a wholesaler at wholesale prices. Not only are members helping themselves, they are helping others by sharing some of the responsibilities.
WHY IS ORGANIC BEST?
Organic produce is grown without the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. In the 1940’s there were approximately 200,000 pounds of pesticides being used per year in the Unites States. Today, almost 3 billion pounds are being used! Some ingredients in pesticides have been shown to contribute to the cause of cancer. Surely a good scrub thorough peeling will get rid of those pesticide residues? Not so, reports a 1994 Environmental Working Group study analyzing the U.S. Department of Agricultures own data. “Washing, peeling, coring and otherwise preparing fruits and vegetables for normal consumption did not eliminate a single pesticide from any of the foods tested.”

HOW DO I GET STARTED?
Enrollment fee to join the co-op is $20.00. Each year thereafter, an annual renewal fee of $10 will be applied. 10% will be added at the end of every order to cover administrative costs. There will be a $25.00 charge on all returned checks.
Ordering is simple. Just fill out and submit an order form to me on the day you pick up your current order or call your order in by Wednesday of the week preceding the pickup day.
Delivery day will be every other Tuesday. Produce pick up will be
from 9 am to 12:00 pm. ALL ORDERS PICKED UP AFTER 12:00 PM WILL BE ASSESSED A $2.50 HANDLING CHARGE (we will bag all remaining orders after that time to ensure there are no leftovers!)
